Meet the Team
Samantha Kolesnik is a writer and filmmaker living in Pennsylvania. She writes, directs and produces at her company, Above the Line Artistry, which she owns with Vanessa Ionta Wright. Samantha is one of the co-founders and directors of the Women in Horror Film Festival, a festival showcasing women creatives in genre filmmaking. Recent films she worked on, Rainy Season and I Baked Him a Cake, have won awards on the festival circuit.
Henrik A. Meyer, DFF
Henrik has collaborated closely with some of the most talented, award-winning cinematographers and directors in Denmark. In over 15 years as a 1st AC, he has worked on three International Emmy® Award-winning series, including UNIT 1 and FORSVAR with acclaimed director Niels Arden Oplev (director of THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO, Swedish version). His extensive experience as a 1st AC allowed him to learn many skills that he holds today as a director of photography.
Landon Knoblock is a composer for film and television. His work includes the ABC Documentary “Truth and Lies: Watergate”, first place winner “Mom Jail” from the Hamilton Film Expo 72-Hour film competition, and the scifi thriller “REDUX” from director Vitaly Verlov. Additionally, Knoblock has written music for NBC's “The Today Show”, Investigative Discovery's “On the Case with Paula
Zahn”, and Fox Sports' “UFC Countdown”.
Knoblock was recently selected for the Queens Council on the Arts' Artist Commissioning Program for his social justice music project “A Voice for the
Voiceless,” a set of compositions inspired by and created with homeless children in New York City public schools. At present, he writes music for 4 Elements Music in New York and Urband & Lazar
Publishing in Los Angeles.
Vanessa Ionta Wright
Vanessa Ionta Wright is a film director and producer based in the metro Atlanta, GA region. She is the owner of Above the Line Artistry as well as the co-founder and Festival Director of the Women in Horror Film Festival. Vanessa recently collaborated with Mark Simon (One Missed Call), David Irwin (House of 1000 Corpses), Josh Oliver (Oculus) on her 2nd film with writer/producer Samantha Kolesnik, "RAINY SEASON". I BAKED HIM A CAKE is the pair's first film together.
Jonathan Williams has worked as a set dresser on genre productions such as the hit Netflix series, Stranger Things, the award-winning short film, Rainy Season, IFC’s Stan Against Evil and the upcoming James Franco horror heist The Vault.
He is also the promoter of the horror variety show known as Monstrosity Championship Wrestling, which has delighted fans at historic Atlanta-area venues like the Masquerade, Six Flags Over Georgia’s Fright Fest, the Starlight Drive-In and Avondale Estate’s Art-BQue festival.
Special Effects Make-Up
Nadine is a self-taught special effects make-up artist based out of Atlanta, GA. She has worked with industry pros Cass McClure (Black Panther) and Christina Ramirez (The Vault). Other recent work includes special effects for Above the Line Artistry's award-winning short films, I Baked Him a Cake and Rainy Season.
Malcolm graduated from NYU Tisch Drama, alumni of Atlantic Theater Co. acting studio and the Stonestreet Film/TV studio. His work includes: Fox Digital's Tenured (Tribeca Film Festival ’15, Netflix '16); Career Opportunities in Organized Crime, the first narrative 360-VR feature at SXSW '16; Serious Laundry (Ft. Lauder Film Festival - Renaissance Award winner). "Best Actor" award-winner for Ross Morin's A Peculiar Thud at the Liberty Massacre Horror Festival, Philadelphia, 2017; also won "Best Actor" for Michael Fodera's Yikes, Austin Comedy Short Film Festival, 2015.
Kara Vedder is an accomplished actress, producer, and film industry entrepreneur whose untraditional path and unpredictable experience across genres and roles have earned her recognition for films including They Shall Not Perish with Victor Garber, Andrea Martin and Tony Shalhoub; Deadly Affairs with Susan Lucci, and Her Composition which gained notoriety on the film festival circuit.
Her extensive television credits include episodic lead roles in Oddities on Discovery ID and Monsters Inside Me on Animal Planet.
Kara studied at the NYU Tisch School of the Arts and began her early career in the theatre, where she gained notoriety for her work such as playing the lead role in the Off-Broadway production of After the Indians at just 19.
